Education Programs at Crow's Nest Preserve

At Crow's Nest, we want kids to develop a deep love of the outdoors. Our programs for grade-school kids are primarily focused on free play and exploration, visiting different parts of the preserve each week. Kids will climb on logs and trees, create their own play games, run amuck in the woods, get wet and muddy in the creek, and come home tired and inspired by nature. During the school year, we offer weekly nature clubs in 8-week seasons in the fall, winter, and spring. In the summer, we offer weekly day camps.

For kids in 7th to 12th grades, we focus on service-based activities, allowing the kids to dig deeper in their understanding of the natural world and their role in caring for it. (Please note that programs for 7th-12th graders are limited to kids who have participated in Crow's Nest programs when younger.)

We are currently accepting registrations for our Fall 2026 season. Registration opens first to returning families; we will begin accepting registrations from new families on September 8. Programs begin the week of September 14th, and end the week of November 2nd. The schedule of programs in each week is:

  • Grades 2/3/4: Wednesdays, 4:30-6pm
